Kosabei Estate

The Kenya Tea Estate of Kosabei lies in the Nandi highlands at an altitude of over 5500 feet. Kosabei has a great eputation for producing top quality high grown orthodox loose leaf teas, and this is a Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe (TGFOP) grade tea.

The golden color in cup is bright and coppery. The resulting liquor has a fine deep malty character with notes of toffee. Kosabei Estate smells of a perfumed jasmine with a scent of dark honey. As soon as that comforting aroma hits your nose and you take that first sip, you will feel relaxed and re-energized to power through the afternoon.

Directions for steeping tea:
★ Place 1 teaspoon of tea in the tea filter
★ Heat fresh (preferably filtered) water to 205°F (96°C)
★ Allow to steep for 5-10 minutes for full flavor
★ 1 teaspoon makes an 8 ounce cup of tea

★ Steep for 10 minutes and you develop these wonderful brown sugar and honey flavors. Lovely to pair with milk and a dash of sugar to help enhance the flavor character on this tea.

First Steep: tastes of light malt and molasses round out this tea.
Second Steep: gives the tea more of a toasted malt.
Third Steep: becomes diluted and not recommended for steeping beyond this point.
